Operational Principle
Overview
Our Agency is guided by the following principles:
Thorough training of our field consultants to bring them up to date in data collection.
Strict adherence to research ethics/ and international standards (confidentiality of data, untainted data and transparency in project implementation etc.).
Encourage active involvement of client in every phases of the project and updating the client continuously on project progress.
Use of competent personnel at every facet of the research exercise and timely delivery of work.
Data Collection
In Lagos, the Agency maintains a core personnel of 5 Field Manager, 8 Team Leaders and a pool of freelance interviewers in various categories who are well trained and are regularly exposed to current trends.
Outside Lagos, there are 35 state representatives or Key contacts one each in all the states of the federation. At anytime, teams in each location have access to a large pool of experienced non-permanent interviewers. For this purpose, the Agency maintains a comprehensive and regularly updated list of supervisors and interviewers for all the 36 states in Nigeria.
The Agency also have working arrangements with other reliable field consultants and agencies as back-up for field activities.
Interviewer Training Process
Given the pivotal role of the interviewers in gathering accurate and reliable survey data. Interviewers working on each of the Nifty studies are carefully trained in all the nuances of the questionnaire administration and monitored throughout the interviewing period to ensure uniform practices.
Electronic Mobile Survey System (CAPI)
Dynamic Nifty International is equipped with an electronic mobile survey system (CAPI). This involves - designing the survey, deploying it to hand-held devices, capturing field data, managing the operation and then exporting the results to any format.
Quality Control Measures
Given the importance that the agency attaches to data gathering, the following measures are put in place to ensure credible and reliable data:
❂ Use of well educated staff. Our interviewers are undergraduates, while the minimum qualification for our supervisors is a degree or at the minimum, OND certificate.
❂ All new recruits are taken through a 4 week basic training course in data gathering.
❂ Periodic refresher courses are also organized for permanent staff to keep them abreast of latest happenings in the world of data collection
❂ Before any project, apart from the briefing from client, we also hold a session of role-play with both supervisors and interviewers to get them acquainted with the questionnaire before commencement of field-work.
❂ We closely monitor each field work project and undertake quality check to ensure that standard are maintained.
❂ We are stickler on the subject of quality control. Everyone of dynamic nifty international regional supervisors is an experienced professional.
❂ Our quality is further enhanced by our two stage editing process and a 40% back check and 40% accompaniment on all surveys.
❂ From briefing through post-interview validation, we double check all the steps of the process.
❂We usually allow and encourage client to do the following:
➤ Attend briefing session
➤ Accompany field interviewers
➤ Receive the original questionnaire for checks
We believe that since client is paying for the work, he has the right to every process of data collection, if he so desires.
